"AAC has exceeded our expectations through a very detailed consulting work combined with an in depth understanding of our processes and technologies. The communication skills and many years of experiences of the AAC consultants in change processes were of great help. "

Lean Manufacturing: Methods and Tools

by volker — last modified 2009-02-02 20:35

Lean manufacturing is a very wide field. There are numerous conventional methods and tools that have been proven in practice: we take these as a solid foundation on which to build our work. We combine them with our own methods developed in the course of our consulting practice – and we naturally blend all of this with the individual situation we see and experience at the scene of the action – mostly in our clients' production operations.

What this means is that you benefit from proven methods that are specially tailored to your requirements. We work with you to come up with the tools you need to optimise your production continually and sustainably.

Some of our methods and tools are listed below:

Kaizen and CIP
(continuous improvement process)

5S – Set in order and shine

One-piece flow

Production levelling (Heijunka)

Demand-driven flow

Line & cell design

Kanban & pull

Visual management

Reducing setup times

Standardization & standardized work

Waste analysis

Milk run

PDCA

Autonomation (Jidoka)

Low-cost automation

DFM/DFA (Design for manufacturing/assembly)
